The difference between MPK and CBB capacitors

(1).Difference in use :

MKP suppression capacitors is mainly used for EMI inlet filtering, CBB capacitor is mainly used for oscillation, coupling, resistive voltage reduction and other circuits; CBB22 cost is lower than MKP, and it can replace MKP in electrical performance under the condition of meeting the actual DC withstand voltage.

The nominal rated voltage of MKP capacitor is 250/275VAC (x2), but its DC withstand voltage should reach 2000VDC2S; while CBB22 capacitor withstand voltage standard is only 1.6 times rated voltage, etc.

(2).Performance differences between MPK capacitors and CBB capacitors

The more obvious difference between these two types of capacitors is the way they are encapsulated, in which MKP capacitors are encapsulated in a box structure, so their sealing and flame retardancy are better. However, with the advancement of technology nowadays, many CBB suppression capacitors are encapsulated with immersion, so the sealing performance is also better.

For the internal electrical structure, CBB capacitor manufacturers choose aluminum or zinc-aluminum film. CBB capacitors made with zinc-aluminum film are similar to MKP capacitors in terms of electrical performance, as they have high voltage resistance and can withstand DC pressure.
