The high-frequency interference signals produced when using electrical or electronic equipment are reduced to a permitted level by interference suppression capacitors, also referred to as radio interference suppression capacitors. They safeguard devices by reducing brief line-side overvoltages.

Suppression capacitors are a specialized subset of capacitors that are sold commercially and are made to remove electrical noise from electricity being provided to a circuit. They achieve this by lowering the system’s input impedance for higher frequency noise.
