Construction of Metallized Polyester Capacitors:

Metallized polyester capacitors are constructed using a thin layer of polyester film that is coated with a metal layer on both sides. The metal layer is usually made of aluminum, zinc, or a combination of both. The metal layer is then connected to the capacitor’s electrodes, which are made of a thin layer of metal foil. The electrodes are then connected to the capacitor’s leads, which are usually made of tinned copper wire.

Application

1.Application in power electronic circuit. Film capacitors are used mainly for buffering and clamping of power currents, resonant bypassing and suppression of electromagnetic interference from the power supply.

When the film capacitor is used as a bypass, it mainly serves to reduce the impedance of DC bus and absorb the ripple current from the load, so as to effectively suppress the fluctuation of DC bus voltage due to the sudden change of load.

3. When the device is used for resonant converter, it can achieve the resonant function together with the inductor.
